Mobius- the leading U.S. Publisher for UK based titles
Mobius, formerly known as Quercus, publishes a wide variety of books, including crime and thriller novels, commercial and literary fiction, cookbooks, and narrative nonfiction titles, as well as a select list for middle-grade and YA readers. We are owned and operated by Hachette UK, and we are a distribution client of Hachette Book Group. Our office is housed in the Hachette NY office.
In 2019, Quercus rebranded as Mobius. This change came as a strategic decision for our brand as we grow and develop into the leading US publisher for UK-based titles. Because our imprint will ultimately offer titles from across all Hachette UK lists (initially from only the titles of Hodder, Headline, John Murray Press, and Quercus and eventually from across the entire publisher), we chose a name that reflects the global, far-reaching scale of our imprint.
Our new name is inspired by the geometric shape, the Mobius strip. Just as this shape is a surface with one side and one boundary that appears multidimensional, our imprint is one unified entity across the US/Canada and the UK, but our expert marketing and PR team allow us to execute a dynamic, multifaceted campaign for all titles.
The books on the Mobius list maintain their originating publisher imprint, and the Mobius name and logo is used to identify the list. The titles on the Mobius list benefit from the expert marketing, publicity, and sales support of the US team. Every title on the Mobius list is given a carefully curated, bespoke marketing and publicity campaign for increased attention in the US market.
